Psychrometry

Definition: the study of the relationship between atmospheric air mixtures (air, moisture, humidity, and temperature.) Psychrometry deals with measuring and evaluating the thermodynamic properties of air and water vapor mixtures, to enable restorers to properly analyze and manage conditions during drying.

These factors determine the ability of the air to dry the structure and its content. Simply put, psychrometry is the science of drying. Understanding these conditions and their relationship to each other will assist in determining what equipment will be needed as well as how long it will take to dry a structure and its contents.
Allied Restoration technicians use this science on every water loss. Using the data recorded on specialized forms during each visit, and analyzing it daily, we can determine if the conditions are optimum for drying. Our experts can adjust the drying equipment to gain the greatest efficiency.
