Drying Chamber

Whether your home or business is partly, or completely water-damaged Allied Restoration will properly dry it. Allied Restoration technicians will use the Vortex Drying System to achieve our restoration goal. A useful element in our drying strategy is creating a drying chamber. A drying chamber separates wet areas from dry areas allowing an affected area to dry faster than it would by not being sealed off from unaffected areas. By creating a drying chamber, we focus the drying equipment to process the air only in the affected area to dry it efficiently. This allows control over the conditions in the area such as temperature and moisture content of the air. The chamber also allows most furnishings and contents to be dried on location with the surrounding structure.

If the affected area is a single room, and the damage covers the majority of the room, the room is sealed off to form the drying chamber. Closing doors, windows, and erecting a vapor barrier, when needed, to block off any additional openings are steps which are taken. If a large space is only partially affected, a vapor barrier will be erected to contain the affected area. There could also be multiple drying chambers on the same job in order to speed up the drying process.

If a drying chamber is not used, the equipment will be trying to dry the entire structure instead of only the affected area(s). It is important that if a job calls for a drying chamber, it is properly used. If the drying chamber is breached, drying conditions will be altered and drying will be slowed when air is able to move in or out of the affected area.
